Question of the Day

Happy Thursday Barbies and Kens. Hope the week have been going great for you. Today's post is an answer to 2 questions I get asked frequently both by my YouTube viewers as well as my blog readers.

The question is "How do I twist my hair and what products do you use to twist your locks?"

Response
To twist my hair I use either the Organic Root Stimulator Lock and Twist Gel all time favourite and my new found love Mango and Lime Locking Gel. All you need is a little of either product.

How to twist your locks
1) Use your finger to separate your hair at the root.
2) Rub the product between you fingers and apply it to the root of the lock that you are twisting.
3) Twist your hair clockwise until all the new growth blends in with the lock.
4) Use a pin to pin in place. If you have no pin give your hair an extra twist at the root. Once you do one you will get the hang of it and it will become easier for you.

NB: Remember to palm roll the ends of your locks so that they grow smooth. Of you don't them the untwisted new growth will make your hair bumpy and uneven.

For step by step instructions please refer to my YouTube video below;
Hope this was very helpful and answered the questions. If you still have questions about the products or how to twist your lock please feel free to shoot me an email at synethiae@gmail.com or leave the question in the comment box on the blog and I'll will get back to you with the answer as soon as possible.

Farrah Fawcett inspired Hairstyle: Gone with the wind meets Charlie"s Angel

Today's hairstyle is inspired by Farrah Fawcett. She is the queen of curls and winded hairstyles. I love this hairstyle and tried it with my locks. Here I prove yet again that locks are very versatile.
I also tried to create a variation to this hairstyle. The variation shows the hairstyle with more body. Which do you prefer, the original or the variation? How would you vary this hairstyle? Here goes the variation.

I completed my hairstyle by wearing a crop slouch shoulder top and shorts from American Eagle and necklace from Forever21.

Summer Quickie: Bow and Mesh Style

This weekend was a little chilly and I was in heaven feasting on the cool breeze. Oh I wish the summer weather could be less hot and humid. Not gonna happen so I must be prepared to deal with it.
This weekend, I was busy running errands with little time for hairstyling. I needed a hairstyle that was easy as well as cute.

This side sweep hairstyle is one of my favourite but usually takes a lot of time because I have to hold my hair in place with countless numbers of pins. This week, with the limited time I had I was able to do this hairstyle in about 1 minute. All I did was add a scarf and sweep my hair to the side. After returning home, the style did not hold up so, I was at the drawing board yet again. I opted for the same hairstyle but with a different technique.
What I did was take some hair from the front and back of my head and made a tie at the top if my head. This time it was very secure. I went ahead a spruce up the hairstyle by adding a red bow with a long mesh.
I was happy with the result and off to grocery shopping I went. This hairstyle took about 2 minutes to do. Please feel free to try it and send me pictures or leave a comment telling me how the style worked for you.

On a side note, here is this week's nail design.  Let me know if you are digging it. I love colors so, I opted for neon colors this week.

Summer Styling: Scarf Clutch Legs

TGIF. Yupeee, I love the weekend.
Today is the end of my week long summer scarf styling series.  Hope you all enjoyed the hairstyles and got new and creative hairstyles and techniques. Which hairstyle did you like the best?

Today's hairstyle is one that I am loving and think I'll be wearing a lot during the summer. This hairstyle like almost all in this week's feature is very versatile.
I was able to sport my crinkles while protect my hair from the harsh sun. What do you think of the style? What would you wear it with?

I completed my hairstyle by applying the current color blocking styling trend. This is one of my favorite trend because I like colors and like mixing and matching them. Here's what I wore; turquoise shorts from Hollister, gold top from the Gap, purple pumps from Nine West, purple bag from guess, scarf from Christian Dior and stacked bangle from forever21 and Aeropostale. My makeup was quite simple with earth toned color. Finishing Powder from Black Opal, eye shadow from Mary Kay, mascara from Rimmel, liquid liner from Urban Decay and Mary Kay lip gloss all completed my makeup look.
Have a great weekend and thank you for reading. Please remember to leave your comments on the blog and subscribe to get up-to-date posts. Until next time; stay fab and be creative.

SyniI the RastafarI

Happy Thursday Barbies and Kens. Tomorrow will be Friday and I am so excited. I love me some Friday. How do you like the scarf styling series this week? Did you find the YouTube videos useful?

Today's hairstyle is one that I am hearting and have tried doing it many times. It's a little tricky if not done properly you will end up looking like a unicorn with a big hump protruding on top of your head. To see how I made use of my resources, checkout my YouTube video below.
I used a white scarf with the rasta colors at the ends. The scarf is not so wide so I exposed some of my hair to add some style to the hairstyle. How would you wear this hairstyle?

Oh how I forgot to post this weeks nail design. Let me know if you are feeling the designs.

Yeah, I have 50 friends and will be having a giveaway very soon. I am trying to decide which line of products to give away. I was thinking Shea moisture or Mango and Lime. What do you think?

Thank you for reading. Please remember to leave your comments on the blog, subscribe to get up-to-date post and become a Jungle Barbie friend. Be safe and until tomorrow; stay fab and be creative.

Mix up time

Sorry for the late post, was having some problems with blogger. Will upload more pictures when I can. Wow it's the middle of the week. Today is usually the hump in my week but once its over, it smooth sailing into the weekend. I hope you have been enjoying the hairstyles with the scarves series. I'm always trying to come up with new and interesting hair ideas. I like to create therefore this week's series is an enjoyable one for me. Scarves are usually associated with cold months where we use them to keep our neck warm. I like to step outside the fashion norm and push it a few notches up. Ill stop thetalking and go straight into the hairstyle.

These hairstyles may be adapted to any hair type and length. Please do adjust where necessary and let your creative juices flow. Anyhoo, the hairstyle I want to feature is an updo with a little side sweep bang (optional) and a bun created by the scarf to the front of you head. I'm using a long cotton scarf from the Gap for this style. If you have long hair, you want to start off by making a bun at the front of your head. Make sure to take out and create the portion you want for your sweeping bang. Put the scarf over your entire hair making sure the ends are to the side where you made your bun. Tie the scarf and wrap it around the bun then tuck the ends under. For step by step instructions please check out my YouTube video.

This hairstyle again can be casual or dressed up depending on what you choose to wear. I think a few variations may be created from this hairstyle . How would you vary this hairstyle? What do you think about this hairstyle? After winter is over do you put away your scarves until next year? Or do you incorporate them in your spring/summer wardrobe?
Thank you for reading. Please remember to leave your comments on the blog and subscribe if you do  not want to miss another post or update. Until tomorrow, stay fab and be creative.
Peace.
